Genetic Engineering

A Bachelor of Engineering in Genetic Engineering, or B.E. Genetic Engineering, is an undergraduate programme in genetic engineering. The direct human editing of an organism’s genome using modern DNA technology is known as genetic engineering, or genetic modification. It entails inserting foreign DNA or synthetic genes into the organism under study. The employment of traditional genetic procedures is not required for the introduction of new DNA. Traditional breeding procedures, on the other hand, are commonly utilised to propagate recombinant organisms. The most frequent type of genetic engineering entails inserting additional genetic material into the host genome at an undetermined site. The course is divided into eight semesters, with some electives thrown in for good measure. After completing the degree programme, individuals will have a wide range of job options. The programme lasts four years.
Genetic engineering is quite popular as it can have various medical utilities and can help cure various problems in humans as well as other species. There is a lot of scope in this field for aspirants who want to foray into genealogy research. From grafting technology to DNA synthesis, there are different domains in this field that one can pursue.
Genetic Engineering is a rather new and less explored field of science all over the world, but with the increasing advancement in science and technology, the course is present in almost every major science university. The B.Tech in Genetic Engineering course deals with multiple types of problems related to the medical field, agriculture, and industrial consumption. The resulting organisms are used for various factors such as increasing production, quality enhancement, mineral addition, and hormone production.

B.E. Genetic Engineering Eligibility

  • Students should have passed 10+2 or equivalent examination, with Biology, Chemistry, and Mathematics as well as genetics as part of the biology. Or
  • A bachelor’s degree in science or molecular biology.
  • Students need to clear national level entrance exams or the entrance exam of the respective institute based on the requirement of the respective college(University).

B.Tech Genetic Engineering Admission Process

  • Candidates will have to clear the state or national-level entrance exam. The candidates can also appear for the entrance exams conducted by deemed universities.
  • The admission is based on the marks obtained by the candidates in the entrance test.
  • Private colleges also consider direct admission in B.Tech course through Class 12th merit.
