Bachelor of Homeopathic Medicine and Surgery (BHMS)

The Bachelor of Homeopathic Medicine and Surgery (BHMS) is a bachelor’s degree programme that covers knowledge of the homoeopathic medical system. The duration of this programme is usually between 4 and 5 years, with a one-year internship component.
Candidates must also meet certain eligibility requirements set forth by the governing authority before sitting for the entrance exam. This criterion varies by college, but the essential need for all candidates interested in pursuing this programme is that they have scored at least 50% in their 10+2 examinations. Candidates must also be 17 years old at the time of application.
The homoeopathic medical approach differs from allopathic medicine in that it emphasises the body’s inherent healing process. Homeopathy medications work by activating the body’s natural healing system; according to them, healing occurs from inside (internally) rather than externally.
Because these medicines are in a very diluted form and are manufactured from natural ingredients found in the lap of nature, the system of medicine is gaining a lot of favour around the world. The course includes a variety of practical sessions as well as readings from the homoeopathic literature so that students may learn about the origins of this system of medicine and how it differs from other medical and healthcare systems in terms of how it improves the human body.
