B.SC Pathology

A two-year diploma programme in clinical pathology teaches students the academic and practical components of clinical pathology procedures. Students study about histology, clinical pathology, microbiology, biochemistry, and transfusion medicine samples as part of their course work, as well as general principles and techniques. The course assists physicians and pharmacists in learning about medical biology and analysing results from biology labs.
Students interested in pursuing a career in medicine can enrol in the B.Sc. Pathology programme. Students will learn a range of laboratory procedures after completing this course. Agriculture, Public Health, Law Enforcement, Drug Manufacturing, Pharmaceutical and Biotechnology Companies, and Colleges/ Universities are some of the professional choices available to graduates of the B.Sc Pathology programme.

Eligibility Criteria (UG & PG) of Pathology

Candidates who wish to pursue B.Sc Pathology program must have passed Class 12 or any other equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry and Biology as compulsory subjects from a recognized board. Students are required to secure the minimum required percent in PCB collectively to seek admission in the college.

For Diploma –

A student should hold a graduation degree in any field including MBBS, B.Sc in Biology, Biotechnology, and Microbiology etc. with minimum qualifying marks.

For Undergraduate courses –

A student must have passed 12th or any other competitive exams with compulsory subjects of biology, chemistry and physics.

For Postgraduate courses –

A student must have a bachelor’s degree in pathology with 55% aggregate marks or a graduate degree in MBBS from a recognised university.

Diploma in Clinical Pathology Admission Process

  • The admission process for the Diploma in Clinical Pathology is as follows:
  • In most of the colleges, the admission will be done based on the candidates past academic marks.
  • In some colleges, candidates need to appear for the entrance exam conducted by the college at the time of admission. Based on the candidate’s entrance score they will be shortlisted for admission.
  • In some cases apart from the entrance exam the candidates also need to appear for Personal Interview and Group discussion
