B.Sc Microbiology

Microbiology is the study of microorganisms like bacteria, viruses, fungus, protozoa, and others. The B.Sc. in Microbiology programme is designed to teach students about microorganism traits and their effects on the human body. The show also discusses the disorders caused by various germs and viruses. Students interested in professions in research involving the development of microbes and their consequences.
Microbiologists will be necessary to conduct future research in order to combat infectious diseases. They must also have a thorough awareness of the role of microbes in the environment, as well as how to use them in food production, biotechnology, and industry. This three-year undergraduate curriculum focuses on the pathogenic potential of microbes that cause disease in humans. Students also study the biochemistry, physiology, and genetics of microbes.

B.Sc – Microbiology Eligibility Criteria

  • The candidate must have passed class 12th or equivalent from a recognized board.
  • The candidate must have studied Mathematics and Physics as the main subjects in class 12th along with one of the optional subjects as Chemistry/ Biology/ Biotechnology/ Computer Science.
  • The candidate must have acquired a minimum aggregate of 50% in the qualifying examination.

B.Sc Microbiology Admission Process

Merit-Based: The merit-based admission to the course is done directly on the basis of score obtained by the candidate in the qualifying examination. Some colleges also prepare a cutoff list based on the qualifying examination for admission.

Entrance Based: The entrance based admission to the course is done on the basis of score obtained by the candidate in a national level, state level or college level entrance exams. The admission is done through the counselling process.
