B.Sc Environmental Science

Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science has a total duration of 3 years. It consists of 6 semesters with a duration of 6 months each. For distance learning programs, the minimum duration is 3 years while the maximum duration is around 6 years.
Environmental science is an interdisciplinary field that applies physical and biological sciences to the study of the environment and the solving of environmental problems, including physics, chemistry, biology, soil science, geology, and geography. Environmental Science deals with environmentally relevant matters like pollution control, industrial hygiene, radiation protection, hazardous waste management, toxic materials control, water supply and other allied areas in this field. Environmentalists are those who are concerned about environmental issues, particularly the impact of uncontrolled pollution on the Earth’s atmosphere.Understanding earth processes, analysing alternative energy sources, pollution control and mitigation, natural resource management, and the effects of global climate change are among topics that environmental scientists study on.
Fieldwork is an important part of most environmental science degrees, which often include trips to a variety of different countries and world regions, giving those who study environmental science the opportunity to experience different habitats, climates, land formations and societies. You can also expect to spend a fair amount of time in the lab, learning how to carry out different types of tests and analysis. In addition, students often undertake voluntary work in an environment-related role, which provides valuable experience to prepare them for future environmental science careers.
